Welcome to my homepage!

I’m a former member of the North Miami city council, where I served for over 25 years. Professionally, I’m the executive director of an LGBTQ youth & education nonprofit called Safe Schools South Florida. And I’ve also served on the board of directors of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation since 2007.

The aim of this site is to keep you informed about projects on which I’m working. I was first elected in 1999.  That same year, I started this website.  I maintain it independent of city hall at no cost to taxpayers.  This site may well be the first established independently of government purview in all of South Florida.

I’ve seen a lot in my decades of community service.  But there’s still much to be done. Please enjoy this site!
