The American Red Cross continues to monitor the weather and local conditions as this slow-moving system passes over us.
Due to the level of need in the community, we opened a shelter run by a compassionate team of trained volunteers.

We are aware of pockets of flooded communities and are working to reach those residents as conditions permit. If you hear of constituents in need, please let me know. You can also pass along the information that if someone is significantly impacted by the storm, they can contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-Red Cross for potential assistance.
The Red Cross is sending a team from national headquarters with extensive experience in these types of disasters to help with our activities as the threat is expected to continue through the weekend. Additionally, 3,000 flood buckets and 7,000 clean-up kits are being sent to the state for additional support for those impacted by the storm. We also have a team member stationed at the Miami-Dade Emergency Operations Center.
Finally, I would appreciate receiving your cell phone number for use should there be an emergency in your municipality. My contact information appears below.
As the situation evolves, I will keep you updated. Thank you for your service to our community.
With gratitude,
Debbie
