My last day on the North Miami city council was December 10, 2024. I left office having served twenty-five years and seven months (but who’s counting?). It was absolutely the adventure and honor of a lifetime. As I rode into the sunset, two very complimentary media stories aired. They leave me humbled. So I want to share them with you:
- OUT SFL Newspaper – They’re dedicated to breaking news in the LGBTQ community. Written by the legendary Al Ferguson, he recounts some of the highlights of my time in office: https://outsfl.com/opinion/south-floridas-scott-galvin-retires-as-longest-serving-lgbtq-elected-official-in-florida-history
- QUEER NEWS TONIGHT – Similar to the above story, but this time in video format. Hosted by my wonderful friends Fay What and Jeff Oliverio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFnCEe8dJLU
We should all live long enough to hear kind words said about ourselves. Thank you, OUT SFL and Queer News (and Al, Fay, Jeff, and the others) for such platitudes. You give me too much credit. Thank you.
