MOCA Scores Big Donations

In September 2022, the North Miami Museum of Contemporary Art announced two major donations. I couldn’t be more proud! First, they received a $1 million gift from a private donor. It was used in part to bring on a new Director of Community Engagement who will lead MOCA’s expanded work in the community. In addition, the Green Family Foundation Trust awarded MOCA a four-year $200,000 grant to launch its Sustainability Fund. That fund will allow the museum to achieve the objectives outlined in its strategic plan, expand its audience, and build upon North Miami’s legacy as an important cultural destination. Finally, MOCA has announced they have received increased funding from Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida. Other recent major awards include: first time grant from the National Endowment for the Arts American Rescue Plan ($100,000); the National Endowment for the Arts Arts Projects ($45,000); the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts ($40,000); renewed support from the Terra Foundation for American Art ($100,000); and the Kirk Foundation ($25,000).
