Our January 17th “Trade Opportunities with Africa” was full of useful info. It was conducted by Nimrod Simeon, the Trade Analyst, Global Trade & Business Development for PortMiami. Additional information was provided by Desmond Alufohai, the Director of Protocol and International Affairs Division, Miami-Dade Aviation Department. Miami has untapped room for growth when it comes to trading with Africa. The longitude of Miami is a relatively short direct line with West Africa. It takes only eight hours to fly there, meaning trade of goods is cheaper than, for instance, flying from New York. And with more direct flights from Miami to Africa now available, the frequency of shipping products has increased.
