Under the leadership of our Neighborhood Services Department (formerly known as Code Enforcement), North Miami has undertaken an ambitious program to clean alleyways across the city.
The City of North Miami identified a critical issue where alleyways were increasingly obstructed by overgrowth, severely impeding access for emergency and utility vehicles. In fiscal year 2022-2023, NSD launched a targeted $4,000 program to address blocked alleyways. The pilot program demonstrated the vital need for maintaining clear alleyways, significantly benefiting the community by ensuring faster and more reliable service responses such as post storm power restoration.
Maintaining our city’s alleys in compliance with essential guidelines is paramount to ensuring the continued provision of excellent municipal services and the overall well-being of North Miami’s residents. These alleys play a pivotal role for our residents and various stakeholders, including the Public Works Department, Neighborhood Sanitation Services, Emergency Responders, Utility Companies such as FPL, Cable Companies, and Water & Sewer.
